you are going to run into trouble with a 3 inch bl. maybe think about a suspension lift. or if you are set on a bl maybe go smaller with it.

Ya I know a lot are against bigger bl, the only reason I got the 3 inch was my neighbor baught it and went with a suspension lift instead so I got it for free. Only reason I putting it on is to give some room for bigger tires. Don't plan on going off road much if not at all. Just mostly around town and back and forth to work.

sell it on ebay or craigs list and put the money towards a suspenion lift. did you ask your neighbor why he changed his mind? think about it this way, if you move the body higher off the fram what doesn't move and what isn't going to reach and have to be made longer. wires, hoses, linkages. not to mention raising the center of gravity to make it more inclined to roll over.

Ya I did. He was planning on going off road with his. I already got the details on what to do when doing it. And the jeep doesn't go any faster then 55 mph even on highway and like anything be careful on turns. I drive semi trucks for a living so I know bout making slow and safe turns.

The ride can't be any worse then it is now, the shocks I am replacing when I get it done have 144k miles on them and ain't working at all. So I'm replacing those with skyjackers. Also I'm not looking for a smooth ride. So used to rough rides due to driving older semi trucks. I guess when u get used to things. Change is sometimes hard. I appreciate the thoughts bout the negatives bout the body lift. But in my own opinion. If I was to go offroading I would deff innately do the suspension lift. But its just to clear bigger tires and that's all. Got all the parts I need to do the bl. And got the bl for free and labor free as well. So $0 versus $450 or so just to clear tires. I'm happy with the $0.

Shouldn't change the ride. A body lift doesn't touch the suspension. Same parts, just putting spacers between the body and the frame. Same ride, same ground clearance, just higher center of gravity, and room for bigger tires. I have a 3 inch body lift on my Expedition along with a 2 inch suspension lift. Free is good!!! Good luck to you. Love my body lift. Cheapest/ coolest mod I did.

i'm not trying to talk you out of it. just thought you wouldn't want to be caught off guard. you say you know theres more to it than just putting the spacers in and away you go, thats good. free is deffinately good. as long as it satisfies you for your needs go for it.

body lifts are not complicated at all to install. why not give it a try yourself? just get a buddy to help you. i would suggest trying to locate a parts list for the brand of bl it is, to ensure you have them all. dont want to get right in the middle of it and realize you dont have everything.

if you are military or have friends that are, and you are close to a military installation you might think about going to the auto shop to do the install. you can pay a bay fee and use a lift for very cheap. i helped a buddy do his. we used the lift to pick up the tub up off the frame. it took us several hours to do. granted we were there with a group of guys, going back and forth between several jeeps. you can probably knock it out quickly if you are only wrenching on one jeep. it was very easy. or if you dont have access to this stuff then you can do it the old fashioned way. get some floor jacks and lift the tub. obviously this will take longer but it works.

just be careful if you decide to do it yourself. pay close attention to your brake lines, electrical lines, and anything else that might be stretched in this process.

Okay at this point, your going from one bad product to another. Do not install a 3" shackle lift on your Jeep. 1" max for control and driving.. If you have to have a lift 1" shackle and maybe 1" body.. would work.
