I went from 28's to 31's and theres a big diffrence

I have the 4.0

with the 4cylinder I think you will notice the diffrence but it should be manageable.
its doable but if you live in hills you may not like it

what transmission and gearing do you have

There is a big difference between 28's and 31's. Not much of a difference between 30 and 31. Also, being a 4 banger 5 speed he has 4:10 gears. He will not notice much of a difference at all. mostly high speed in the wind or hills will be all he will notice, if that. I ran 32's on 4:10 gears with no major problems. got 4:88's now.

Either way, gas or power, your not going to see a "big" difference between 30 and 31. Maybe if you have a high miles tired engine, you'll lose 1-1.5 mpg. Running in town, your not going to notice any difference.
