Just got my 33x12.5R15 Goodyear Duratracs on MB72 15" wheels mounted. Thanks to Discount Tire Direct for all the help and the great recommendations for this combo. Shipping was super fast and arrived in perfect condition. Video walk around and pics below.

Woowww. Very nice. :thumb:

I think 33s are just about perfect for a 2 door--35s always look a little big to me. :hide:

So from your old wheels/tires, how'd you do on your unsprung weight difference? Rolling resistance? Is the ride better or worse now? Are either the wheels or the tires lighter than your prior set? Details man, details!!

As an aside, I really almost CAN'T believe those are AT tires. They look to be every bit the mudders that the BFG KM2s or the Nitto Grapplers are.

Looks great. That is the exact setup I am planning to go with once I add a Teraflex Leveling Kit. Which DT did the install? That tech looks very familiar.

someone else already asked if you added any backspacing, or what the rims have for backspacing themselves. did you add any lift? any rubbing at full turn or flex?

thanks,

The 15" MB72s have 3.75" backspacing, so wheel spacers are definitely not needed. As for lift, I believe he has the 1.75" Daystar spacers.

I am running a 3/4 Daystar Comfort Ride Lift Kit and no spacers. Everything fits perfect with no rubbing on the air dam or sway bars. The wheels do not interfere with the brake calipers at all. The ride is very comfortable and very smooth. The Nitto Trail Grapplers that I had prior as seen in the pics were 255/75/17. Each weighed 58 pounds per tire and the 17" alloys weighed another 23-25 pounds. The new Duratracs 33x12.5R15 weigh only 49 pounds and the 15" alloys weigh 17 pounds. My jeep lost 80+ plus pounds with this install and my MPG has gone from 16.3 in city with a lot of rolling resistance to 18.3 driving all this afternoon. My interstate MPG will be higher I'm sure so I'm very happy. The jeep is peppy and I've gotten much needed power back for accelerating and cruising speed. They feel great driving on and are not loud, very smooth. :)

The wheels are 15x8 seen here http://http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/wheels/mb_wheels/product/submitProductSize.do?pc=69260&typ=Truck&tmn=72

How much did you pay for the 33s im looking at the same tire
$1315 shipped, mounted balanced, and installed. Take another $100 off for a Tread Lightly discount and Goodyear offers an additional $40 mail in rebate till the end of next month.

Grand total = $1175

Duratrac on the JK

I just finished putting 275/70 R18 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs on my 08 Sahara Unlimited Wrangler so far they look awesome. Im catching a little rub on the front sway bar when fully turned, in either direction.
Any recomendations on size of spacers I should use?
Also when I got out on the expressway the tires did not hum as I expected but when setting cruie control at 70 the speed would float down to about 65 mph then the rpms would kick up to 3g to bring it back to 70mph this happened repeatedly. Any clues? please!

I am thinking of the Duratracs next just because of the weight. I love my GY MT/R's though but they weight a ton. They killed MPG's as soon as I put them on. But I am still on the fence because these MT/R's can climb a rock like it wasn't there. There was some with me on the last trip, I would have thought could go were mine couldn't and it turned out reversed. If I was young and able again I would keep the MT/R's for off road and by a light set of show tires for dd.
