Hi all, I just had a local 4x4 shop install my 3.5" MC GC kit with 1.75" spacers.

They were asking what I was doing about wheels. I am planning on putting 37x12.5 on my stock JKR 17" wheels for the time being. The shop told me they do not recommend putting on wider tires on stock wheels, 'although guys do it all the time'.

Has anyone had issues with a similar setup? These are 12.5" wide vs the stock tire's 10".

thanks!

The suggested rim width range for tire size 37x12.50R-17 is 8-inches to 11-inches. Mounting this size tire on a 7.5-inch wide wheel may pinch the sidewalls causing the tire to flex in area's it wasn't designed to do so.

Although it may be possible to mount a tire and wheel combination that is not recommended, it can lead to tire failure, irregular tire wear, or poor vehicle performance and handling.
