Anyone done this? I'm assuming the head has to come off...but my 92 has a heckuva tap when it's cold. Start it up, let it idle for about a minute to get oil everywhere, rev it up a bit and hold, around 1500rpm, let it drop back to idle after 30 seconds or so, and the tap will keep going for about three seconds and just STOP. It doesn't fade out like a lifter usually does (in my experience) - it just quits. Like someone flipped a switch.

Anyway. I'm used to meatball surgery on Mopar 2.2 turbos; I'm not all that familiar with the 4.0 motor. Is this a pull-the-head operation? Or will I get lucky and there's a way to get them out otherwise?
