488s without a freaking doubt.

why spend 1k-2k on regearing when you got 410s now and youre only going to go a little further? you might as well make the jump...

our 12' is going 538's after we put 40's on it.

He has 3.21's (unless he has changed recently).

I guess he should figure out if he wants 35's or 37's. 4.88's would be pretty aggressive for 35's. Then again, he does spend 90% of his time off road.

ah i see. . .

either way, i'd still go 488s. skip 35's and go 37's.

re-gearing for us did more off the road than it did on the road.

way more noticeable off road

ok guys here is the situation:

i have right now a 3.21 gear i occasionally go off road not much and i wont go for 37's until my 35's wear off!

so what to choose again if i go with 4.56 would be ok on road with 37's in the future or not!

Sorry, I mis-read your earlier post. You stated you were ON road 90% of the time and you are in Kuwait.

Well.....I guess I would say....if you are on road 90% of the time, keep in mind 37's will require some extra work.

What's aggressive about 4.88 with 35s? Every shop I went to about my bold said go 4.88 with 35s and it will still be ok with 37s. I do mostly highway and 4.88 puts me right at about 2800 rpm at 70mph and about 15.5 mpg. Lower would feel doggy as 4.88 feels like it did with the stock tires now.

I ran 4.88's in my TJ w/35's and it was great! Yeah, a little torquey, but not to the point where I couldn't accelerate or cruise at a decent speed.

Im not trying to say this in a bad way, but do you have serious rock crawling enough in the country of Kuwait to where you need to gear to a 4.88?

we do not have rock crawling in kuwait only the sahara sand, i occasionally go off road but the point here is for the 37 tires in the future

i dont wanna put 4.56 now on 35 and then after 1 year let say wanna change to 37 change the gear again, i want one gear fits both tires

2800 RPM's at 70mph is pretty high, 32's on a NAG1 auto with 3.73's run just under 2300 RPM's at 70mph.

4.88's and 5.13's were often used for 3.8/42RLE.

Many people run 35's on the stock Rubi 4.10 gears. That works out to about the same as 3.73's and 32's...just a hair under 2300 RPM's at 70.

But if you are going to 37's, I think that would work out fine.

Yes but it's a trade off between miles per gallon and overall driving performance. I have been in a lifted ruby with 35s and stock 4.10 gearing it it felt like much more of a dog around town under normal driving conditions than my 4.88. But to each his own obiously.

I just got mine back with the 4.88's. I have a 2013 6 speed and 35's. I had 3.73's. I thought that with the 3.73's it was just too high after putting on the 35's. It seemed like starting out in 2nd gear. Now that I have the 4.88's there is a real difference. I originally asked for 4.56 but the shop said they had trouble locating them but said that getting the 4.88's were no problem. So I said let's go 4.88. These gears are much lower than what I had but I would not say too low for me. I think the 4.56's would have been fine too. Seems to be a noticeable difference in power. That translates into more fun!
