Has everyone heard about the 4 Wheel Parts store opening in Charleston? I'm excited! We do not have much here (as far as I know) for off-road stores around here. Be nice to be able to see stuff in person before buying and maybe instant gratification instead of ordering everything online and waiting daily for the ups/fedex truck!

Don't get to excited about them. We have a couple here in the ATL area and they're not all that. They carry a little but not much.

One good thing about them is you can order on the web site and pick it up in the store and not pay any shipping.

Whats the wheeling like in the Charleston area? I may be moving there in the spring.

Well I figure it's better than what we have now for 4 Wheel Parts which isn't much. Unfortunately there isn't much wheeling in the immediate area. We usually have to drive a couple hours to gulches or uwharrie. We've done a couple trips to windrock which we love but it's a weekend event since that is about a 6 hour drive. We'd talked about putting together our own jeep club or joining one out of town to actually do off-roading trips since the one local club doesn't seem to put together wheeling trips just meet ups. If you move out this way let me know. We're usually willing and up for a trip to do some wheeling. After the holiday chaos calms down looking to do another windrock trip and maybe stony lonesome or Ocala too just to check some new ones out. Unfortunately it's just great in this area.

Thanks for the info. When I first got my jeep in May of 2015 I was looking for a group up here but not much luck. But on the GA Wrangler Forum there was about 5 or 6 that was looking also. We ended up making up our own group sort of . Really just a group of people that wanted to ride. It worked out pretty well. There is about 30 of us now but only about 10 that wheel on a regular basis. Usually once a month. Maybe that will happen again. I am really looking forward to getting away from the ATL traffic!

Hello again! Not sure if you'd be in the area or up for the trip but a few of us are looking to do a trip to Windrock the weekend of Jan 27-29. I know that's no day trip but we love that park and I thought I'd extend an invite in case you happened to be interested and able that weekend. Let me know if so!

Thanks for the invite. I would definitely be interested, but I have a surgery scheduled for the 24th. Have you ever been to AOP? We went last weekend. It was a muddy mess! We spent the the whole day winching each other out .

I will let you know. If I get to go. I dropped my jeep off at the dealer today to have a axle seal fixed. They refused to fix it under warranty because there was mud in the axle tube. They wanted $2100 to fix it! Are they kidding me ? :atomic:

Are you kidding me?! My husband fixed his himself. He said if you come up here he'll help you fix it for free! For more your area a friend of ours from GA used SBC off-road engineering in Atlanta for his regear, axel seals, and new driveshafts and he said they did great and warrantied all their work.

Thanks. I usually fix all my stuff but the fact its still under warranty with only 17000 miles, they need to fix it.

Looks like my wife's transfer came through. She will be the store manager at the new "Soft Surroundings" . Heard of it? Its going to be in the Mt. Pleasant towne center. I hope we can find a nice little house with a garage that I can do my Jeep stuff.

Turned out to be a nice day for this event.
Lots of people and plenty of stuff to admire. Saw lots of friends but I didn't participate in the giveaways. Kind of Corney if you ask me.

I get that. They should cover it then! It sucks that these things simply seem dependent on the tech you get that day or his mood that day. I haven't heard of soft surroundings. I'll have to google it. Good luck house hunting!

Yeah it was a perfect day for it! I had been telling someone it's a good thing it hadn't been the weekend before when it was freezing cold! I participated in the giveaways. I am in the market for some new wheels and hoped to get lucky! Lol. I did win the rugged ridge elite fuel door. I never win anything so I was excited! Very nice people working there and attending. After we left and I was driving home I was like "now back to all the a-holes!" Lol. Lots of horrible drivers out last night!

Well, Stony Lonesome was a great park. It as 3 of the Jeep badge of honor trails. We did one of them. It was a long drive 3.5 hours so we made a weekend out of it. On the way home on Sun, we stopped at Morris Mountain. They're only open 2 weekends a month, so we got lucky.

Spent the day today cleaning mud from under the jeep. I hate that part!
