Moving from Spirit Lake IA to Grand Forks ND, about 410 miles.
99 TJ auto, 135k miles. Made the trip today. Front end was smooth.

It ran really good except for an intermittent hesitation studder above 65 mph. Would happen several times an hour. temp gauge is normal. Made me a bit nervous.

Would hesitate for a split second and the rpms would surge slightly. Within the last 10,000 miles: new plugs, wires, cap, cleaned IAC and throttle body, new fuel pump.

Ran at 75mph @ 3100 rpms really smoothly.

Suggestions, ?

Morning fellow Jeepers.

Could it possibly be the Throttle Position Sensor?

Driving it yesterday, the frequency is getting worse when driving over 2000 rpms. Appears to stumble, hesitate only when under load.

While parked revved the engine to and past 3,000 rpms without any hesitation..

Any ideas.

Morning Jeepers, stumbling is getting worse.

She starts right up, idles ok.

Stumbles, rpms surge a bit intermittently when she's cold or operating temp.

I'll replace the crankshaft position sensor and see if fixes it.

Has it thrown any codes? I'm starting to have issues with my CPS and it sounds similar to what your seeing except mine seems to do it around 1500 rpm.

I wish it would throw a code.

No CEL, no codes.

I've just moved up to Grand Forks and the moving company hasn't delivered my stuff yet. Miss my tools.
