Hi guys,
I had the valve body out of my42rle last weekend to change a shift solenoid. While it was out I noticed 2 of the 4 pins I the transmission range sensor had fallen out and I had to order a new one. Got the now one today and installed it. The led display under the gauges now displays the correct gear range (park drive etc) but when it gets to neutral the display does not show it is in neutral. Even though it is. When I shift one more to drive it skips over neutral to drive and drive lights up. Everything lights up properly except for neutral. What is interesting is that if I turn off the ignition and turn the manual shift lever to neutral position then switch the ignition back on the neutral symbol will light up for about 3 seconds the go out again. So I know the sensor is reading the position correctly. I am stumped. Does anyone know how to fix this. Thanks.
