Hey folks! So I have an 88 YJ that I'm doing a complete rebuild on. I'd like to do a Chevy V8 swap and I found an 86 Blazer for sale...$800...cool! My question is can I use the axles? I've checked a ton of forums and I can't find someone who says yes OR no...

Anyone do it? Is it possible? Could be more trouble than it's worth but I figured I'd ask...the motor and trans is worth the $800 I think, the axles would just be icing on the cake lol

K5 blazer.. if so then yes... you will need to convert the front axle to crossover steering and will need to weld new perches to the rear axle... the spring pad spacing on the front axle is slightly wider than the yj but the springs will flex enough to make that a non issue..... you will also need to use the whole drivetrain from the blazer and convert your yj to a passenger side front diff

This assumes you are going BIG as you would be soa which is 6" of lift in addition to whatever springs you choose...

The new axles will be much wider than stock so the tires will stick out quite a bit

Here's my 92 yj w full size chev axles 2" springs and 38's... also has a built 350 sm465 and 205...

Hi, I have done it on my YJ, I've swaped a complete chevy 1/2 Ton drive train from a chevy blazer K5 into my 1995 jeep wrangler yj. it works and it is not that much work.
