My father has an 88 wrangler. We took it up Cinnamon Pass over to Lake City, CO... Barely! We need some more power. What is the best way to acomplish this? The motor has 95 k on it and we deffinately like the power the 4.0 L has offer. Swap it?

hard to get more power with just little upgrades...go with a motor swap or a trade...you could do like my buddy and put a corvette engine in like he did to his 88 YJ lol...now that thing has POWER

Sell it and buy a jeep with the 4.0 it will be cheaper that way....

not everybody has enough $$$ for that...although it would be great!

If you in the Mtn's, you may want to up the rpm's a bit to compensate. Also when was the last time the carb was really taken appart and cleaned? Also what about the vacum line leaks if any?

Hackle on here swapped his motor out of his YJ and put in the HO 4.0. He still swears it's one of the best things he did. If you are planning on keep it then go for it.
