Just bought 88 wrangler and am restoring to like new; windshield frame and glass, new paint, new soft top, all polished stainless hinges, brackets, etc. It did not have
factory AC, but as soon as I can locate the proper brackets for compressor and alternator for 258 I-6 engine I will be
much closer to completing the project. I recently purchased
the complete dash w/AC unit, blower, lines, etc. Still need
condensor and compressor mount brackets. I was reading an
earlier post by someone who was wanting to remove thier
compressor. I would trade my alternator (top mount) bracket
for his comp. brkt. V-belt type compressor I assume on 88.
can anyone help me out?

Thank's, I was reading an earlier post here on WF and could not remember the
author or date concerning him wanting to remove his AC compressor alltogether
and relocate alternator. I think the AC comp. mount bracket is mounted on top
while the alt. is mounted underneath in factory setup. My 88 YJ only has alternator
mounted on top and would gadly trade brackets with this person if someone out
there could help me find this person.

I have a 1989 I6 with air and the po took it all off except the pump whitch is needed for the pully. It blockes the #1 sparkplug and is a eye sore to me. I was looking for the non ac pully to trade out. It mounts to the bracket that holds the pump and holds the belt in the same position as the pump did.

88 YJ compressor bracket

My 88 YJ has v-belts. Does your 89 have v-belt or serpentine? And does
your alternator sit underneath compressor? If yours has v-belts, then remove compressor bracket and send to me and I will send the alt. bracket that relocates the alt. in place of where the ac comp. was.
Then simply get belt for non ac YJ I-6. Also what compressor is it?
York (square looking upright) or Sanden 580? Thank's jeepdriller
