So, today I am headed out to get my YJ. Bought on CL for a really good deal considering the starting asking price the seller had it listed at. Nice family guy and took the ole hand shake I will be back Saturday to get it. Smog appointment set up and if the YJ passes, I will loaded it up and trailer it home!

Jeep is really clean for what it is and what it has been through. I was looking for a Automatic and something I can toy with. Primarily will be a weekend toy, hunting rig and trail rig. Been a long time (Back in 1989-93 when I had CJ) since I have been back to the Rubicon, and since I live relatively close to the Sierras, the YJ will make the trip! The previous owner had plenty of video of the YJ conquering the Rubicon.

Trailers attached to the truck and off we go. I will post pictures and post all I know about the mods the jeep has, but as you can see, I listed some of the mods in my sig.

Stay Tuned and welcome to my already built thread! Come on in, stop by and stay a while. The threads a place to chat about the jeep, your jeep, sports, hunting, guns, wives or any other thing you want! :welcome:

You're pretty certain that you're going to buy that Jeep. You've already put it into your signature.

Good for you. Please post some pics when you get it home. Even before you detail it and get rid of the stickers. That way you'll have a complete record of what's done to it and we can follow along. Without looking back at other posts, I seem to remember this Jeep has a purple bumper and suspension. Is that correct?

Good Luck, L.M.

I went and looked at it last week, I agreed to buy it then. The owner needed to leave for work and I wanted a same day smog check and I could not pick it up until today. So I knew already, and so did he. Nice to know a gentlemen s hand shake still exist.

So the wife and I went to get the YJ. Smog check when we arrived, and it passed with flying colors. Cash and signed the documents, got a bunch of extra parts and purple paint (Lol) and on the trailer it went.

1992 YJ 4.0 Built Auto - SOA -35's - 4.56's in 8.8 Rear w/Detroit Locker - WFO High Angle U-Joints - EMU Shocks - Posi Lok Install - SYE - 4 Disc Brakes - RuffStuff High Steer & 3/4 Heim Joints - BombProof Motor Mounts - Smittybilt Rock Sliders, Steel Fenders, 9500lbs Winch, Bumpers & More

Was nice looking back and seeing this for 3 hours!

Snack stop and check the tie downs

Very clean it is!

Got home at dark, so I will unload it in the morning, and take more pictures to post. Most likely tomorrow I will remove the stickers, give it my cleaning and steam clean the engine. Then I will go from there with mods and such for my already built YJ additions.

I think I did pretty good for $5800!!!

I like it how you say "My cleaning". That indicates to me the Jeep is gonna get the scrubbage of its life.

I do that to all the used vehicles that I buy too. I've found things in cars that I don't want to be associated with. It'd suck real bad to get busted for someone elses junk.
Plus, you might find some things that need attention during the cleaning. In a Jeep if you pull the seats & carpets you can use your steam cleaner on the inside of the tub. Just pull the plugs in the floor.

I think you did well with this Jeep. It's unlikely that a person could buy a decent '92 6 cylinder YJ and build it to what you have for close to what you paid.

Good Luck, L.M.

Yes sir, always have to clean it my way, although this jeep is really clean and the owner took really good care of it, he was sad to see it go, but it went to a great home. I am anal about my things.

You are right, to build even 1/2 of this jeep, would cost me more then I paid for it. To build a stock 92 yj like this, would go over double what I paid for it.

I am happy

Woke up and realized I have all day to look it over and start cleaning. Will for sure get the stickers off and the engine cleaned today.

Now its time to unload it off the trailer, take my flat bed back to my property and then start the tinkering!!!

So, removed the stickers on the sides of the jeep, gave it a deep cleaning, coat of hand wax and steam cleaned the engine.

before, with the stickers, both sides were like this

And the afters, removed stickers, wash, one coat, hand wax

Going to drive it to my buddies BBQ, show it off for the first time today!

Maybe black out the purple bumper b4 the bbq...
So funny, I told my wife I was going to paint or powder coat black, she does not want me to, she loves the purple.

But she is used to disappointment. I will be honest, I kinda like it. So I will have to decide!

You picked yourself up a very nice Jeep for the $$$. What are your plans to make it your own?
Thank you.

I plan on adding some sort of axle wrap set up, new and different seats, rear rock guards, rear racks, carpet or rhino line the inside and some different wheels. From there it will be some little things.

Didn't get a chance today to either tinker or drive it today, had to go get my rv and bring it home to get ready for my camping trip to the coast this weekend.

So, I was searching CL as most of us do and I came across this add of a person selling brand new YJ interior and other parts. Anyways, I responded to the add and ended up with the following:

Smittybilt Front seats, smittybilt rear fold and tumble seat with brackets, all new complete front and rear seat belts, Jeep steering wheel and kit, complete carpet for Auto and sun visors.

All for $450
