talked to a guy today and he said most 4.0's 99 & newer are prone to breaking piston skirts at 110k-125k miles, I said I've read they go for 200k if maintained properly, he said prior to 99 ones are better for the higher mileage. I have 140k on my 02 and it runs great.. what do you guys think??

Just finished a rebuild on my 2003 which had a broken off skirt on piston 6. A 1993 4.0L swapped into my old YJ had 2 broken skirts before I rebuilt it into a stroker. My original 1989 YJ 258 engine had a broken skirt on one piston. Personally, I have found the factory pistons to be less than ideal. I have never had any of the aftermarket pistons in my rebuilds fail like this.
