I recently had my 5 spd replaced by a transmission shop in my 1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ. While driving down the road the snap ring fell off clutch master cylinder actuator rod which then fell out causing the clutch pedal to go to the floor, could this also cause the engine to die?

Not really enough info. There isn't any electronics connected to the clutch pedal itself. Unless when the rod came out it attacked the wires under the dash. The starter switch is located in close proximity to the clutch rod, i'm wondering if it pulled the wires off of it when it launched?

That's why i'm stumped, I fixed actuator rod checked to see if carb was getting gas which it was still wouldn't start hooked up timing light to see if I had spark turned key fired right up huh! Appreciate your response though.
