What are some good trails in Ocala national Forrest for Jeeps?
Looking for more overland than rock crawling.
I see a bunch of ATV trails on maps, but not Jeep trials.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

check out these links
https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/ocala/maps-pubs (get the Ocala National Forest 2017 Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM))

It has all the trails including Paisley Woods (right side of ONF)

Tread Lightly! Four Wheel Drive Way

Make certain you bring extra water / food / 1st aid as you may need more time to get out than planned. Also if 1st time going, go with someone! ONF is a big place. plan your route and let someone else know where you plan on riding (just in case).

Hook up with the Orlando Jeep Club or Ocala Jeep club.. Both good groups to help you learn about ONF. Finally tread lightly... remember to use the Jeep the enjoy the forest, not use the forest to enjoy your Jeep.

have fun and hope all this helps

plenty of jeep trails in ONF, and they're pretty well marked. fun times out there, and you'll run into some hidden and very cool spots if you explore enough.

:welcome: to the forum.

What they said is right on.

I go out there, mostly at night. I'm a night shift worker, so my hours are really screwed up. I stick mostly to the marked forest roads. I will occasionally stray, but they are always marked on the map.

Also, cell coverage is almost non-existent out there.

If you are on Face Book, become a member of this group. They will help you out of rough situations. Luckily, I haven't needed them.

Thank you all for the info. I went to explore Ocala this weekend and found some of the coolest trails. I started in Altoona and ended up in Paisley (Best trails). lots of mud and water this weekend. I now understand that its hard to tell someone where to go wheeling because there are so many trails, most are unmarked, (You just have to go). I found a cool spot near Lake Dorr. I ended my trip in Daytona Beach for a quick look at the Ocean as the storm passed by.
will post pic's as soon as I can figure out how.

glad you had a great time, Yes Lake Dorr in Paisley Woods is always a good spot for lunch break. Just make certain when you trail near small water areas (i.e, small pond, lake etc) do not drive close to or through the small ponds as you can crack the basin and ends up draining the pond causing damage to the eco system. A few years ago this occurred and ONF rangers closed over 5000 acres to any motorized vehicles. It is our responsibility to be good stewards of the trails as we use them.

looking forward to your pics!
