I want to rip out the carpet of the jeep. I am just curious if there's any cons of doing so.

Yeah figured that. Will rust form easier without the carpet in?
Rust is rust, you just need to sand it good and then put some kind of Bedliner over it.
It'll be a little louder, and the floor gets a little warm.
I haven't had carpet in my TJ for I don't know how long. I think it looks cooler without, no molding when it gets rained on and thus far no rust problems.

I am planning to bedline the interior at some point.
Pull the carpet out. Pull the plugs out. Buy some cheap rubber mats to put in over plugs. Rubber mats will keep holes covered and help with the little heat coming up during the summer.
I have been planning on ripping the carpet out of mine as well ..I want to rhino line it and the top black but I have had some tell me my jeep will be to loud and that the rhino line will mess the top up ..is that true?

I have the carpet and plugs out, and it's a little louder, but I don't notice it. No clue about the bed liner on the top.

No problem. And I'm sure someone's bed lined there hard top, as many jeeps that are bed lined on the inside of the tub, someone's had to have bed lined the hard top.

Very true thanks for the help ..off to bed lol
I just took mine out last week. Ended up bedlining the floors and I like it alot. It's slightly louder but not too bad...I also pulled out the backseat and bedlined just the cargo area and am digging that too...

Far as the top goes, you may want to use a rubberized undercoating on it instead of bedliner. It will be a little less textured and not as rough feeling which will be nice if you take the top on and off frequently...
As far as rhino lining goes.. I like it alot i checked out a 91 wrangler before i got my 01 and the floors were rhino lined. I have looked all over the web but there is nothing really about it. If someone could tell me where you get it hows its installed and how much it is that would be awesome.
Look into Monstaliner.

I monstalined my interior and I love it, tons of colors available, easy to roll in.
the floor gets a little warm.
More than a little warm on mine! I measured 147F to the right of the gas pedal yesterday. 125+ on the tunnel all the way back to the shifter.

Nope, it's the exact opposite. Carpet promotes rust.

Well i dont think that will be a problem for me here in long island with snow on the ground.
Ditch the carpeting!

I dumped mine a over the summer, and my daughter had me pull hers out last week. It just held water, promoted mold, and caused surface rust to form in the wells. I bought a can of the Monsta Liner a while back but haven't been able to string several days off together to do the job. Now that the weather hear has turned to $h!t looks like it's gonna be put off till the spring. Don't think spraying that stuff in a gas furnace heated garage is a smart idea! LOL
