I wouldn't buy it. At that price your asking for cheap materials etc. You might get lucky and it might be great but I wouldn't buy it if it was my money. I'd run a bumper and no tire carrier before I used that and just toss the spare in the back.

Your in michigan.....there are two great companies in michigan ACE and JCR offroad. Might see what they have to offer you.

That looks exactly like the smittybuilt rear bumper. I hated it, so I ripped it off and put on an AEV.

When it comes to Jeep parts... you get what you pay for. Go cheap, get cheap. Just factor that into your decision making.

You can get good quality at a decent price. Ace stuff is good and priced well. JCR and VkS can both awesome quality and cheaper the PS.

Well, since no fellow Jeep brothers (or sisters) will help another Jeep brother out with a pick up in Michigan, I guess I'll have to go the online route.

Is this a POS?

Spyder Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier for 07-13 Jeep Wrangler JK | TruckandWinch.com
I have it, guess I am a cheap ass, but its a bumper that is going to be used, quality welds, nice finish and works as it is supposed to, sure the swing arm could be better, but I you want function and not trying to impress the mall crawler douche bags that think because it is cheap it is not a quality functioning piece of useable equipment on your rig, double the money and be happy you have a name on your ass that is sure to impress at least one or two people. But if you use your rig and don't cry if you get a ding here or scratch there you will be totally satisfied with it.

Works in the Rockies just fine.

Edit to add, not calling any previous responders douche bags, but y'all know what I am getting at.

There is a thread on another forum about these bumpers that is 180 pages long. This is the same thing as a paramount restyling bumper which can be ordered from JeepAddOns who are a vendor on this forum. I have a paramount restlying ( eautogrilles is another name) bumper/tire carrier and love it. Just need to replace the hardware and spray it with bedliner.

How about the Rancho rock gear bumper/carrier with horizontal Jack Mount? Found it for $450.

I've learned my lesson buying cheap. I saved money for awhile until it broke and I had to buy what I should have bought in the first place.

I have the same bumper. The PARAMOUNT RESTYLING Bumper. I got it from Chris at jeepaddons.com, Ext. 1884. The price for all 3 pieces, Front bumper, Rear bumper and Tire Carrier was $ 769.00 including FREE SHIPPING when I purchased it. It also comes with a 3 year warranty and if you use a credit card you will usually get an extra year of warranty thru the CC. DO NOT Purchase from eautogrilles, NO Warranty Product SECONDS and Poor Packaging on Shipping. You can search my threads for more info on this bumper or pm me for more info on some of the things I did to the pieces to work a little better. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Say anything bad you want about Smittybuilt, but I just put their M.O.D. bumper on the front and their SRC Bumper/Tire carrier on the back of my 2013 JKU. Fit and finish is great and best of all it bolted in without any cutting or grinding. Both front and rear are beastly, heavy duty pieces. If you say the powdercoating sucks, my buddy has the equivalent stuff on his TJ and the powdercoat still looks great despite shitty, salty NE Ohio roads for over 3 years. I have been building and modding Jeeps for over 20 years and have never put Smittybuilt on anything because I made the mistake of listening to people on the web bad mouth them. I have bought from all the "cool" vendors out there, but the only other vendor where everything bolted in perfectly was Metal Cloak. Everything else needed a little "massaging" to fit.

As Tagg said above, don't buy any bumpers from e bay. buy them from jeepaddons if you are going this route. I can give you more info about these if you want. I would spray it with 2 cans of bed liner and possibly change out the studs on the spare tire bracket for different wheel studs .

Keep in mind everyone is giving you really good options and your decision should be made on how you use your jeep. If your wheeling it every weekend and crushing on the rear bumper rock after rock, maybe a high end bumper will be a better choice.
