Completely new to WF and the jeep world! I'm looking into upgrading my sound system and have done some research as far as my next set of speakers is concerned for my 2004 sport. Based on what I've read from other threads and user reviews, I've come up with Polk audio's db 521's as my sound bar and front dash upgrade. With that being said I have no other knowledge as to what wiring I'll need to do or even how to do it. I'm also curious as to what kind of amp to purchase. So far it seems easier, or rather, more logical to install a 4 channel instead of a 2 channel. Lastly, I'm not sure what car receiver I'm going to go with but I would want one that I could connect my iPod/iphone to. Any and all advice is much appreciated!

I put Rockford Fosgates in my dash, and 6.5" in my overhead. Got a pyramid sub in the console and bought a kenwood cd/mp3 player and dash assembly. Simple and easy hookup, no extra wiring and it bumps pretty well. Only prob with the sub is if you plan on keepin the top off, water gets into the amp and tends to make it a no go. Waterproofing the amp box is fairly simple and there are a bunch of sites that have different ways of doing it. :)

Now mine are not flush with the body, but a simple die grinder with a cutting tool, you can get in there and cut it out bigger. I didn't really care honestly, looks ok as it is for me. :)

How do you install 6.5" speakers in rear?
You drill new holes...

Here's my setup...
Nakamichi NA350iBTR head unit
Clarion XC1410 class D 4 channel amp
Polk Audio db521 5.25" speakers in the dash
Polk Audio db651 6.5" speakers in the soundbar
Kenwood KSC-SW11 powered subwoofer under the rear seat.

Outstanding, clean sound, Bluetooth that works (with the hardtop, anyway), several options for audio (Bluetooth, tuner, aux in, USB, SD card, CD).
