Hey there, It looks like you only have the filter assembly.Mine came with a new breather tube (metal) and a bracket and hoses and fittings, the new set-up goes over the valve cover not toward the front like yours. There are some units out there made by bombz that fit jeeps and import racers,I think you may have one of those.you are deffinetly missing the after market tube portion of the intake. Check out rockit parts they make a very nice yj specific unit and throttle body spacer.

this is the pic on ebay it looks like they used the stock air hose there as well just its all painted up nice. if not then i didnt get that part maybe another package i havent recieved yet? i really dont think they going to send it in 2 diff boxes. it was listed as being usable on a 2.5 and 4.0 from 90 to 95 and mine is a 91 2.5l engine. i have contacted the seller and informed him i didnt receave any instructions and that the hoses were too short for what i needed. looks like ill just havta buy some hose and hopefully the instructions shed some light on this. the ebay listing did say instructions were to be included.

All you are going to get with that set up is a lot of crud in the pleats and it will plug up faster than what you had. Looks to me like you got bamboozled. (Shafted for you younger folk)

well i dont do any offroading only street use so caking up with mud shouldnt be too much of an issue or at least i dont think so. i still got the original air cleaner so if it doesnt work out i can always put it back and the air cleaner assbly really didnt cost me much. i really dont expect to gain much from it but i figured it was cheap enough to where it wouldnt hurt to try it out.

engine bling is it lol its kinda sad thats the only part that looks half way decent in there that it actually makes it look bad lol. need to get a nice looking valve cover at the least to really make it look decent but truthfully id rather spend $ on usefull things on the jeep. i still havent gotten a response from the seller on the instructions yet im really kinda not expecting to hear from them either. but well see.

If you like it that's what's important. But, for me, I'd stay stock. All the major companies spend a lot of money on research on items they put on their vehicles. Yeah cost is a driving factor I'm sure, but, it still has to work, meet emission, laws etc. This after market stuff doesn't have to meet anything except the eye candy rule, look cool and that's it. I'll let you in on a little secret, everyone that has handle that part has made 100% profit on it. So, the guy that made it sold it for 100% mark-up, the distributor made 100% mark-up the retailer made 100% mark-up so forth, figure out what the part is really worth. I had a friend that made custom motor cycle parts for one of the big after market companies. They decided what the part would sell for, and then worked backwards to determine what they would pay him to make the part. He told them see-ya. They were making all the money off his work. Hey... if you like it, enjoy it. If you complain enough they'll probable just send you another complete one for free, there really isn't too much product support for those kinds of parts.

i did get the directions emailed to me today the air cleaner is suposed to go to the stock air tube. the 2 brackets i got bolt to one another and one end goes into the clamp that holds the air filter onto the chrome tube and then bolts to someplace on the fenderwall. i never figured on bolting the 2 bracket peices together to make it work especially sence i didnt get no bolts or anything with it. ill go get it wrapped up tommorow hopefully. yes im sure it probably wasnt worth the effort as i doubt i gained any hp out of it i really wasnt expecting much of a gain. but i did get a decent boost from a 4.0 throttlebody i was figuring maybe a cold air intake might help get a lil more air. was kinda doubting it but sometimes ya just gotta try something to find out. i went with this cheaper unit as i didnt want to waste $ on one of the more costly units ive seen in offroading mags when i wasnt expecting much gain out of it. at least this way i tested weather an intake setup might be worth my while without spending 100-200 bucks. and its pretty easily reversible if need be.
