Have a 2007 Sahara (purchased new) with an airbag sensor problem that (so far) cannot be fixed. Light goes on and off and on and off. Been to two different Jeep dealers (under warranty) and to a really good mechanic but the fix never lasts. Anyone else know of this problem and any possible solution aside from taking the airbag out!

It's a problem regarding a faulty clocksprings which have to be replaced. There was a recall for 07 JK's but only for right hand drive models. The dealer should be aware of this issue and they need to replace the clockspring.

Airbag indicator light problem

Thanks for Kik for the response. I was aware of the Clockspring recall in fact that was the first thing I had checked out. That particular Jeep dealer told me that was not the problem. Went to another shop this morning and was told it could be something that's referred to as a seat sensor (which indicates whether there is weight on the seat) but problem happens whether there is anyone in the passenger seat or not. Welcoming any more thoughts and possible solutions

the seat sensor would be my guess too. Take a look under the seat and see if the wires are all intact. This won't tell you if that's the definite issue or not, but it could give you a general idea

It seems odd that the dealer indicates it's not the clockspring but they don't know what the problem is. I would consider going to another dealer since the majority of the time when there's an air bag light issue on an 07 it has to do with a faulty clockspring. 07's are the only JK's with a passenger side weight sensor in the seat. If there's no one sitting in the passenger seat the light goes on (seat sensor light not the air bag light). If that's happening it's most likely not the seat sensor.
