I have a question along the air conditioning lines. What do you think about unplugging the AC compressor (electrical connection) during the winter so it does not come on? Yes, i know it is supposed to come on with the defrost, but i really do not think it is essential. In other words, will it be damaged if it does not get to cycle on every once in a while?
I have always been told that even in winter you need to switch it on once a week to keep the seals working or it,s the quickest way to lose the AC refrigerant gas. I don't know what kind of environment you live in, but if you get in a car with AC and you are wearing wet clothes, have put wet clothes, boots in the back...having the AC running will suck out all that wetness.
