Having a hell of a time trying to get my new motor (4.0L) aligned back up with my trans (5speed)
Was wondering if anyone had any tips to make the job easier?????

Always better to install tranny to engine first before installing engine or stab tranny to engine instead of other way around

But my favorite trick is get two long bolts with same threads as bell to block bolts
Next grind off hex and grind a dome on the end where hex was removed then grind a slot in domed end suitable for large screwdriver

Now install one domed long bolt each side of block then as dome end fits thru bell bolt hole these long bolts become guide pins as you bring engine and tranny together

Once no space between bell and block install two bolts in other holes then remove your domed bolts with a large screwdriver in slot in end and install correct bolts
