What's an iphone?

Oh yeah, that's my wife's cell phone. ;)

RAZR Maxx user here. Have the Wrangler forum, maps and Weather Channel app's already. Will look at the others.

I also use Weather Bug and Google Earth.
Thanks.

LOL...
My wife has...and has had an iphone forever.

I didn't get a smartphone until a few months ago.

I rocked this for the longest of time:

I was basically forced to get that one because I was also out on my motorcycle. (And I had the black and white screen version before that "color" one).

But now that I have a smartphone/android.....GasBuddy and a few other apps are musts.

Will check some of these out

oh, I get about 18-24 hours, but coming from an iPhone, that sux. I guess I had higher expectations after reading all the reviews about awesome battery life with the GS3... guess that's just compared to other android phones

I don't have anything running now. I stripped most stuff to find the culprit. Will do a factory reset this weekend to see if that helps. It's a great device, don't get me wrong, It's just a tough transition

I get 20+ hours talk time on the RAZR Maxx. It is supposed to have 20 days of standby and web surfing but I use it to talk so much I guess I will never know. I charge it about every other day.

I do have some Bluetooth issues with my 730N (http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/the-730n-rhr-q-and-a-thread-133496.html) but I have learned to live with it.

18-24 hours and you're complaining?? And that's worse than an Isheep device?? No way!! Welcome to the Android world! You'll enjoy your stay here a lot more! Be happy you're getting a full day out of it! I carry two spare batteries around... but I use the crap out of my device. Rooted, custom ROMs, this forum, etc, etc...

not sure what isheep device is, but yes, I got at lest 2 days out of my i4. My wife can go 3-5 days on her's. I'm very disappointed in the battery life. I can't use ArcGIS app (use it daily at work), the built in email client is lame and I can't show individual phone numbers from contacts in the favorites, just contacts themselves.

Other than that, it's just a big smartphone and I do like it. I will be keeping it and plan on rooting soon, then maybe things will get better. I couldn't imagine having to change batteries twice a day! I guess I'm just spoiled by iPhones

sorry... guess I upset the fandroids :( Just stating my experience. Check back in a month and I may have better news :)

The key to long battery life is to turn off unused things like 4g ,wi-fi or BT when you are not using it.Those radios use a lot of juice searching for a signal that is not there.

I have a dock that my GS2 goes into at home every night and I use the crap out of it and never have a problem. It will go all day on a charge unless I am tethering my laptop to it.Then I will plug it in to the charger while tethering.

Someone posted a link in another thread that was for an app that you can set to turn things on and off based on location. Llama. Iam trying it out now and it seems to work well. Set it to turn on BT and turn off wifi when I leave the house so I have BT in the Jeep. Its set to turn off BT when I get home and turn on Wi-fi. Its working great at doing the things I would otherwise have to do manually to conserve battery.

i get just as much battery life with my GS3 compared to iphone 4s. while it takes a few more tricks to do it, it is totally doable. and if its a real problem, i just swap batteries and drop other in the cradle.

A good gps / tracking program for off road areas is Backcountry. Good if you want to go to places that don't have roads, or at least not public maintained roads.

Thats a pretty badass app! I have a GS3 too, if you charge it every night, it usually lasts, and I'm a huge pandora guy too
