I have a '93 wrangler with just over 200,000. I have replaced my starter quite a few times over it's life, more than I think is normal. I just put another in and I remember putting one in less than three years ago. Is this normal?
Mine is still running the original from 89. Has 125K on the dash and it is still fine. Yiou may have been getting from a source that is not up to the quality you would expect. Maaybe check another source.
When you do an oil change do you cover up your starter when taking out the filter? I know mine will drip alllllllllllllllllll over it if I don't put a couple rags on top of it first. Oil will attract dirt so it could be getting dirtier than it needs to be.
