Finally convinced the hubby (really just gave him enough alcohol to agree with whatever I said) to line-x interior. So now that's on the Jeep's to-do list, I'm wondering if anybody regrets it? Lots of posts on how-to, which brand etc., but I'm wondering about heat, noise, and any other negatives. Thanks!

I have not done it to my Jeep but I only regretted doing it once in my Bronco. I had to drive from Colorado Springs to Orlando and it rained the whole way, so windows up and no AC for 2000 miles. I swear I lost 8lbs in water weight in 2 days

Just took mine out too.. threw away the carpet.. its a bit noisier, I have rubber mats and havent gone barefoot to see about the heat.. if I dont like it, I will get some bedrug carpets instead, they wont mildew and will dry out in under 30 min most times.. plus they velcro in.. easy in, easy out..

I've driven both ways, but prefer it in. However, I also regretted having it in when I drove through a river that was deeper than expected. Clawing through 6 inches of mud to rip the carpet out to get to the plugs was not fun.

Now I just pull it out if I'm going wheeling.

I pulled my carpet after getting caught in a monsoon several months ago. I haven't bothered to replace it yet. I will be bedlining it in the next couple of weeks but will still use the carpets in the winter months. The noise isn't noticible when you have no top or doors, but it gets pretty loud when you close everything back up.

Getting rid of the carpets and herculining the inside was one of the best things we did! It is so much easier to clean after a day of Jeeping. You also don't have to worry about trying to get rid of that mildew smell after you get caught in a rain storm with your top down! I do have rubber floor mats still. I found that the floor is a little slippery if your shoes are wet.

Did y'all leave the sound dampening goo stuff? I'll keep the quadratec mats in it so I figure the "goo" could stay too. Just wonder if it makes a difference.

mine is hotter and louder, but a thick rubber matting and some removable carpet

takes care of the problem for summer; I put in slush mats on top of it all.. when I go mudding the thick rubber and carpet come out; the slush mats on top of the rhino lining, spells easy mud clean up.

never have regreted it.., but im not one to complain about noise, leaks, etc. --it,s a jeep..

when i worked in the garage at the stealership, you would not belive how many brand new jeeps leak --way over 3/4s--and as many with wind noise complaints in both hard and soft tops...

i swear my old 92 farm jeep with it,s cheap as you can get soft top dosent leak at all compaired to the new ones...

and it,s so handy to just hose out and not worry about the moldy carpet...

I only notice the addl noise over 40 mph.. also, if you want carpet, you can get Bedrug carpet that wont mildew and put it in.. I believe its held in with velcro, so easy out, easy back in.. am thinking of getting the Bedrug carpet but am going with no carpet and no bedliner for now. Maybe get the rubber plugs off of eBay to make the pulling of the plugs easier..

I only took out my rear carpet and don't regret it at all. I hated cleaning that carpet after a weekend of fun with the top off. It took me 3 hours once to clean all of that carpet back there (was using a small carpet cleaner and it hadnt been cleaned in the life of it), I love my raptor liner in the back.
