I thought it was a little more involved with the 231. Definitely had my eye on it though. Give them a call and see what they say. They are definitely nice to speak with and very helpful.

I've talked to Tom. He said it'll bolt right onto the 231 as long as its got a SYE which I do. I was just hoping someone has used one and can give their thoughts and pros/cons.

Ran across this on his site and it apparently bolts right up to an Atlas or NP231 with SYE. He also has a universal one for other applications too. Let me know if you or someone you personally know has experience with it. Seems pretty cool and since I currently have my trans/t-case out, I'm interested in it.

Many years ago I worked for ARDCO they build huge Marsh Buggies, back then they used Military Surplus Running gear most of them had the old t18 trans. and twin stick transfer case. they manufactured their own brake which looked identical to this one. it bolted on the output shaft and believe it or not was the only brake on the Buggy.

Id like to have one. looks a lot cleaner than stock brakes.

Yeah, it's basically the same thing it sounds like. And that kinda makes me want it more, hearing that it was the only brake.. I have front brakes on my YJ, just no back/parking brakes (it's not and never will be a DD so it never gets up to high speeds) Honestly I don't want to put a single dime in the D35, including the brakes since they would need a master overhaul. So I am considering this to use as a parking brake temporarily until I can do a 8.8 swap, and even then I'd just use this for the p-brake and the disc brakes out back without a p-brake on them.

Yeah and Tom said you can just modify your current park brake line to hook up to it. And it bolts to the output as long as you have a SYE. This will be one of my next upgrades after I get a new trans.
