Anybody got any pics of a 2001 TJ w/o the ashtray option. Just finished installing two arb's in front/rear D44's. Got three switches, front, rear, compressor. Tried using the two empty blanks in the panel but that little overhang on the top of the switch and the rocker type cover is not working out. Got a feeling I'm going to have to mount them in that empty square area after cutting out the 3 standoffs that were used for the airbag disable. Thanks.

Not what I have, where your three switches are I already have 4 factory slots, 2 used for the rear wiper and rear def but the overhang on the top interferes with the arb switches and the switch cover. Where you ashtray is I have a big blank area but it has 3 standoffs behind it. Once the third switch gets here tomorrow I'll be exercising my coping saw I think. Did you cut 3 seperate holes one big one ? Thanks.

Shop did mine for me.. I told them what I wanted, and visa took care of the rest. AEV also has one that mounts near the dash, but I think its only a two hole box.

Yea, just went out and looked at one of my 97's and they have the same setup as yours, the 01 is alot different and there is a big thick eyebrow over the factory switch holes. Well I guess if I screw up the plastic I can always use some sheet metal over that big square area.

I've seen pics of the ARB switches mounting just fine on a 2001 and newer TJ. Over on JF... I'll see if I can find the pic..

It CAN be done. Those switches are VERY tight when you put em in.

It's not mine. Found the picture on JU, not JF like I originally thought. The poster didn't mention anything about having to cut to make things fit. I know on MINE, I put one end in first, the angled the other in. It WILL be a VERY tight fit, but that is how you want it.

Need an ashtray blank

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know where one could get an ashtray "Blank" for a 2000 TJ sport? My dilemma is that I have a hard top with wiper, Defrost, and Fog Light switches already being used. I am due to have the install done anytime now and I am really getting a little antsy about where I am going to mount the rockers for the compressor and both lockers.. :banghead:

Any suggestions are most helpful, but I really like the lay-out of erickpl's last pic..

I would really like to get a blank and just toss the ash tray!

Thanks

Timber
