What tires are you going with?

I have 35" tires along with the RK 2.5" MT lift and I definitely needed bump stops. I think you will too.

I chose a shorter bump stop than required for using stock fenders because I plan to replace them with tube fenders sooner rather than later.

must have with 35 or bigger, imo.
Bumpstops are not necessary for 29-32" tires on either stock or aftermarket wheels. Once you go to 33" or larger on aftermarket wheels, the backspacing of the wheels will cause the tires to sit out further from the jeep limiting your travel for both the front and rear. You can rub with 33" tires on your rear flares without bumpstops.

ahhh I understand now. I do plan on 35's so I'll have to budget in bumpstops now.
they're not really cheap either :(

Are bumpstops necessary with a 2.5" lift?

I am running 35s with a 2.5" lift and originally installed the bumpstops ... do I still need them since I have bushwacker flat fenders now ?

If you have put on longer shocks a bumpstop will keep them from bottoming out.
