So, I have a 93 yj 2.5 that im changing the transmission in. The replacement ax5 is from a 98 tj. My question is which bell housing should I use? I also plan on replacing the clutch and slave cylinder as well, so do I use the 93 bell housing because I know the clutch and motor will link, or can I just buy the external slave and clutch for the 98 and use it? Is there anything else I would need for the 98 to fit like a throw out bearing retainer plate or anything? Sorry for the essay lol I'm kind of a noob.. Thanks in advance!

Use the 1998 - it has the external slave, which is a HUGE upgrade over the 1993 internal slave.

The clutch and pressure plate would be the same from 1993-1998. But you will also want a new 1998 throwout bearing.

I used Dorman CC649002 for the external master/slave assembly. Summit Racing has a very good price on it.
