I have a 2005 jeep Tj and the previous owner put in a Dana44 axle up front from a wagoner, and an AMC 20 on the rear. Both lug patter are 6 on 5.5 Is there a way to tell what year the AMC 20 axle is from? and what type of vehicle it came from as well? Im looking to get a one piece for it and I need to know some more info on it before I purchase anything for it.

Also, the ends of the AMC20 seemed to be welded as well, what would be a reason for this?

Ill post some pics of the jeep if needed

If you have a wagoneer front end then your rear is most likely a wagoneer as well. Also the Wagoneer and cherokee's came with 6x5.5 while the CJ came as 5x5.5. AMC20's came in CJ, Wagoneer and full sized cherokees'. Depending on how wide it is then its either a narrow track or wide track. Now those welds you are talking about could be because the axle was shortened, but I dont know for sure. My best guess with the info you have given me is that it came out of a wagoneer or full sized cherokee.
