I have noted a high pitch squeaky noise and right rear wheel oil leak inside inner wheel rims and onto inner tyre. I am almost certain that the problem is a leaking rear axle shaft seal.
I have decided to replace the rear axle seals and bearings, got 144,000 KM on the clock.
I need to pull out the rear axle shaft from the rear differential, which is fastened by a pinion gear mate shaft lock screw. What size wrench do I need for this screw?
Is it a Hexagon 1/4" 12 point end wrench?
My rear axle type is DANA 35.
I would appreciate someone to confirm this, as I don’t want to strip the screw by using the wrong wrench size. You know what I mean—ooff
