Having some fun trying to get my back seat aligned properly... The PO had welded some pieces of steel over the bottoms of the brackets so they could move the seat back futher, so the back seat was basically flopping around on these home made extenders, not bolted down properly and not locking into the locking clasps.

I ground off the welds, tossed the extensions, wire brushed the brackets and painted them black. Now they look great, but.... I still can't get the seat to line up with the locking parts on the side. I don't know if the brackets are the right way round, and even if I flipped them that doesn't solve the locking part.

This is how mine is installed (photo is from before I removed and fixed the mounting brackets.) You can see how the whole seat is over to the left too far as well, so when the seat comes down, not only do the locking pins not line up with the locking clasps, but the left locking pin in scraping along side of the wheel well. The brackets are now mounted in alignment with the holes in the tub so that part (I'm assuming) is right.

Can someone with a 95 Sahara model of the YJ post some photos of how their back seat is mounted? It would be greatly appreciated!

How the heck do I edit my post (to fix the images)? There's no edit button anywhere that I can see...

I just looked at Morris 4x4 and Qtec no luck for rear hardware. So out of all that is left maybe fab some up or find a donor. Maybe someone has left overs from removing the rear seat.

Correct mounts?

I think they're the correct mounts although the Haynes manual is useless for confirmation. The instructions for removing or replacing the seats is basically, "Undo the bolts, remove the seat. To install, do the reverse." Great....

If I do a search on eBay for "1995 jeep wrangler yj seat mount bracket" I get a bunch of results and the brackets look just like these ones.

Unfortunately, I can't find any photos of the rear seat installed but lifted from the back up so I can see how the brackets and catches SHOULD be aligned.

Thanks!

Awesome, thanks! I can see right away that your brackets are pointing the other direction compared to how mine were installed. I'll switch mine around and see how things go.

I will have to look to see if I have holes where they would have been.
How do they work ?
Are they meant to keep the seat UP when folded ?
Because mine just flops back down if I go over a good bump (assuming the cargo is not blocking it)
Do they actually "latch" in ? ... to what, the same posts on the seat hinge corners that make it sit upright ?

Ok I thought you meant you didnt have the ones on the sides of the tub that hold it in place....there are no upper ones that I know of
I have a similar problem. There're two holes there with bolts in them, but no bracket. Either they're not meant for the fold and tumble seats that I already have, or, they were tossed by the previous owner. :/

I can't find anywhere in my 95 YJ that Jeep would've put a retainer to keep a back seat in once it's been folded and tumbled. I think it's just supposed to sit against the cargo, unless you use a tie-down.
