Does the sound go away when you disengage the clutch? Or is it constant. If you are losing fluid from the reservoir and its leaking from the inside the bell housing it will mix with dirt and oil and look like motor oil.
have you checked your master cyl. to see if it;s low?if your slave is leaking it will need replaced.depending on yr. of jeep could be as easy as replacing external slave or if it's internal you will need to drop the tranny to get to it...russ
Yes if the slave is leaking it's time to replace. It may last for quite awhile with you just filling it up, but when it decides to go, it goes completely. Then you need a tow, or better be able start it in second and shift with no clutch till you get it to a shop or home. It's no fun shutting down at stop lights and getting going again with the starter motor.
