Hi all I was just wondering what people’s thoughts were on batteries. The mopar garage wants $210 for on but I can get a gold battery at advance for 170. Any thoughts.

There are a few dozen threads here about batteries, a couple very recent if you just look. :)

Aftermarket. Better battery, less money. The factory replacement is NOT an AGM.

The only reason to go with a factory battery is if you want to keep it bone stock so you can polish it up and put your Jeep in a Concours competition. Of course then you would have to be able to find one that would allow a Jeep to enter.

When I need to replace the battery in my '17, it will be with one from a local Georgia chain that has good batteries for less. The one I put in my TJ almost two years ago only cost me a bit over $100 (not AGM).

And you can get the platinum AGM from Advance for $200. Go in with a 20% off coupon and that is now $160.

The factory battery in my 2013 JKU lasted 2 years. You can buy an Interstate Battery at Costco for $118 plus tax. A Duralast Gold at Autozone is $160 plus tax.
