Any opinions on an Optima over something like a Duralast or a Die Hard?
Wow how things change. I bought an Optima red top for my Cutlass a good while ago (thinking its been 5 years now). Was made in the USA and has been a great battery (car doesn't get driven much...spends a LOT of time sitting without a tender on it). Still cranks like new. But doing a bit of research, they've been steadily moving production to Mexico since 2000 and as of a year or two ago moved all production down there. And apparently quality has gone down considerably at the same time.Optima is made in mexico.
