Best bumpers for JK running 37s with a 4” lift?

2238 Views 28 Replies 15 Participants Last post by  Chelsey B
I have an 18’ jk that I’ve cut stock bumper down due to rubbing. It’s running 37s with a 4” lift.

I don’t really like the stubby look and would prefer full or mid length.

I’ve read about a few but looking for feedback from anyone that’s successfully installed just the bumper without other mods.

included some photos prior to cutting bumper.

TIA. 🤍

A lot of its up to personal preference, how much you want to spend and what features you want. If you want to keep the fog lights make sure the bumper you get has the cut outs for them. A lot of choices out there. Here’s two links to browse

Welcome, havent used one but you might look at the Metalcloak bumpers. They seem to have some options that might allow you to get the width and attachments you would like. Or you might see if you can find a take-off bumper like the one @JustOnlyME mentioned, I like the looks of that one.

I went with JCR bumpers but that is really a personal choice. I started with full length bumpers but cut them down years later as my Jeep evolved.

Second JCR suggestion. I don't have them but a couple of friends do. Also made in the USA.

How about an OEM JL bumper? i replaced 2 JK bumpers with the JL because i like the stock look but wanted to get the fog lights a little further out. they don't come back against the tires nearly as far so depending on your preference that might be a simple solution.

I picked up two new takeoffs for $50 each and added led fog lights. Total cost with aftermarket LED fog lights was like $100per jeep and was a simple direct bolt on. I eneded up with a stock look and brighter fogs with a wider field of vision

AEV bumpers are the best but pricey.

I like the Rock Hard line of bumpers.

Had a front medium bumper on my TH. Saving my nickels for the JK version.

100% made in America. Father and son shop in Nebraska actually.

I really like the mopar steel 10A bumper with the end caps removed. On my Wife's JKU, I installed a mid width bumper, easy peasy.

Yes, the best. No rust after 10 years of salty winters. Bounced a deer off it with no damage. Solid build with an extremely good finish.

Doesn't make them the best. Lots of great bumpers out there. Genright, ARB, Evolution Off Road, LOD, Poison Spyder, the list goes on.

There are a lot of good bumpers out there. Pick a style you like and go for it. If you off road, look for one that has a good departure angle. My first bumper was bought more to replace the stock one and it sat lower than my current one, therefore hit obstacles when trying to climb ledges. My new one now clears those things my first one did not. This one is a Tyger and it was $265

Oh gosh so many good suggestions and now I’m even more confused than before. Thank you so much for y’all’s input. I’m definitely new in the jeep world but have wanted one since forever!

Learning as I go with this build, only plan on keeping it for another few months then going to sell and purchase a newer one with one sky touch and push start etc.. so I’m not super picky with this one. I just absolutely hate the cut bumper and the sun fade on it.

I haven’t done much off roading because I’ve recently relocated from Texas to TN.

Again thanks and I’m for-sure open to any other suggestions/advise etc.
