I got $1100 from my college scholarship refund, and I want to get the best set up I can for what I have. I was thinking Dick Cepek DC-2s (15x8) with Wrangler Duratracs 33/12.5/15. But I recently found out that they aren't even 33", I really want the biggest tries I can. :punk:

Here's the 33x12.5x15 Duratracs on DC2 wheels. you're right about them actually measuring at 32x11.50, but the DC2 wheels give them a wider stance, making them look pretty good.

Almost none of the tires you buy will actually measure up to what they claim to be. Most measurements are based on max PSI, which you don't wanna get even close to.

I have 35" DuraTracs. Mfr says they're 34.6". Measured size @ 30 PSI is 34". C'est la vie.

TJnewbie's setup looks really good, though, no?

Yep, nice looking rig.

I will add though, that if you have not done any gearing or other modifications, the tallest I would go with would be the 33's. I got gung-ho & threw 35's on mine without doing my homework & ended up hating them for a while because they were too big for the rig-up I had at the time.
I know it's more of a matter of opinion but I thought I would throw that out there.

yeah i wouldnt go any bigger than 33"... any bigger will run you into more expensive problems if your current set up cant handle it...

I installed a Skyjacker 2.25" budget boost lift with the Hydro shocks, and replaced the stock rubber isolator pads with .75" Isolator pads in the front (giving me a 3" spacer lift in front), then Installed the DC2s with the Duratracs already mounted/balanced by Tirerack, then had an alignment check/adjustment done afterwards. There's no spacers behind the wheels, that's just the backspacing that they come with. I didn't/don't have any drive-line vibes.

Because of the paint scheme on the wheels they look bigger than 15" in person. most people think they are 16"ers. I'm really pleased with them! The Duratracs have a rim saver feature built in, and have a nice "bulge" to 'em, which keeps the wheels from getting scratched up on things.

I just noticed you're driving a JK, :eek: isn't the bolt pattern 5.5 for a JK? if so the DC2 would come in a 16x8 wheel with 4.0 backspacing, you should research or check other JK'ers if the 4.0 backspacing will work for you with-out doing a lift. the tire size would be 285/75R16 which equals 33.1x11.3x16 (found on the tirerack site)

I'm not sure of the wheel tire size in the pics, but this 'll give you an idea what they'll look like on your rig.

Thanks TJN! That last pic is really helpful since I plan on installing flatties with the wheels as well. I think (need to check) that the bolt pattern on my JK is 4.5 but I might be wrong. I think the 4" BS will work but barely, 3.5-3.75 would definintely be better. Before adding spacers, I'd add a BB though so maybe I'm just working through my issues here first....thanks for the therapy man!!!

Sure thing glad to help! Yea, I really like the flat fenders too, like the 4" Xenon fenders for TJs.

My recommendation to you is to keep your eyes open for a set of tires/wheels on craigslist. I recently purchased a set of 255x85x16 Maxxis Bighorn's mounted on TJ Moab's for $800 off Craigslist. Less than 200 miles on the tires and the wheels were mint. Deals like that are out there if you are patient.
