Hey guys,

So I recently installed a Best Top TreckTop Pro Hybrid top and I had a couple of questions. First, does anyone else have "loose" fabric on the sides of the top? Like this...

. And is there a way to tighten it up? Also the top is very hard to latch close. Is that normal at first? Or should I try to readjust the halo?

Thanks for the help!

I just looked at my top and it's tight for me at the top, no loose fabric. Are your bows installed? As far as closing it, yes it's hard for me too and I think you want it that way. I don't know if you adjust the halo to pull the fabric tighter, been awhile since I installed mine.

Yes, my boss are installed. However the instructions have one in the middle and one in the back but I've seen people have one in the front.

You seem to be missing one then. You should have 3, one in the front, middle, and back. Mine is a 4 door, don't know if a 2 door is different, not sure which you have.

They are primarily to keep water from collecting in the top when out in the rain. While mine is a straight Trektop on a TJ, the one bow it comes with goes over the front seats and has been out for months. Top is still tight on the sides, to the point it is difficult to pull the sections out of the surrounds to flip it back.

Your link is good. When clicking on the image posting icon (mountains with yellow background) the box comes up with "http:// ", but the direct link has https://. When you past the copied link you wind up with "http://https://imgur...". Simply delete the http:// that is in the box when you click on the image and then paste your link in.

The instructions that came with the top only calls for one in the middle and one in the back. So I don't know if its changed or what. The instructions manual sucks though. You think they would do a better job.

The new version only has two bows for the four doors. I missed one step when I installed mine a few weeks ago that caused my top to sag a bit. I didn’t run the “lift assist” cable under the outside bolt. I’ll post a pic of it. It’s next to the Bestop label. If you did follow that direction, then I have no clue.

Also, was near impossible to close the first time. I thought was going to break or tear something. Now that it’s been on for a few weeks in some 90+ weather, it’s fairly easy to open and close.

Great catch. I fixed it and I think it made a difference? Its hard to tell. What hook do you have the lift assist cable hooked to? Mine is closest to the front of the car.

Thanks again!
