I know this has probably been talked about to the cows come home but I could not find anything already posted....

I have a 2008 X JK stock everything. I received Pro Comp 17x8 wheels with 4.5 back spacing.

What is the largest tire that I can put on these Pro Comp wheels without a lift, without rubbing, or without any concern of safety issues????

Thanks

285/70/17 would be safe. 305/65/17 would be the same height as the 285 but would be about an inch wider. Should be ok with that one as well. If you rub at all, it would be on the front air dam at full turn and that is easily fixed by a simple trim of the dam. But with your 4.5" backspace, you should be fine. Both tires would be roughly 33".

That being said, if you go offroad with this setup and no lift, you may get into your fenders some. But around town, you shouldn't have any issues.
