So, Ive done lot's of things to my 91 YJ over the last 2 years, but I didn't think I should post a build until I got rid of my tooth jarring 2" shackle lift, and put in a legitimate lift kit. With that finally done I believe I can officially call it a build!
This is how I bought it 2 years ago. Frame was POR14nd, nice paint job and tires. Came with hard top and full doors. $3500.
Rode like a TANK on that shackle lift! Also no power steering but she looked great.
Motor ran good at 175K but rattled badly.

So within a couple months I added power steering. That was a huge upgrade.Made it so much easier to drive. I also found 2 half doors for $150 each a different color. I decided to paint them rustoleum blue. I know most people would stick with all black, but with the black hard top ,tinted windows and full black doors it just looked too serious for me,like a hearse or special ops or something. I wanted my jeep to be about fun, so I've gone with a black and blue theme.

Over last winter I bought a used 2.5L and had it rebuilt a a local shop. They did a great job with it.Bored it 30 over. Cost me $1800. No more rattle, and we're good to go for a LONG time!

Did some Speaker mods so I can hear my tunes with the top off. I put 6x9's in the half doors with quick disconnects so the doors can come off.

Also added a sub woofer. I bought A rockville 8" kit. Real nice, comes with everything you need. Unfortunately it wouldn't fit where I wanted it to go so I made my own box with the black material and all. It fits nicely in the unused space under the dash and stereo.

Exhaust was on it's last legs. So I decided to do it once and do it right! I bought Pacesetter ceramic coat headers, Banks stainless exhaust and Magnaflow cat.
Noticed definite power gains as far as pick-up goes. Banks muffler is a bit high pitched for me, but I'm happy with the results!:iamhappy:

Other things of added were a besttop soft top, which made it through last crazy winter just fine, and some rugged ridge floormats for the mud. Also new 6.5 speakers in the sound bar.May try to jam 6x9s in there at some point! Also have a cargo net and bikini top.

And finally, the last mod I've done was to replace the 2" shackle lift with the Old Man Emu 2.5 lift with shocks and greasable shackles! Expensive, but well worth it on these potholed RI roads!

I have also done the 4.0 throttle body mod and moved the air intake sensor off the red hot intake manifold to slightly up the intake tube. I have #19 injectors and an adjustable FPR waiting to go in, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Got tired of the weak yellow stock headlights. Could not see too well at night, so I got some cheap projectors and harness kit. Haven't really had a chance to test them out on a dark country road yet with these longer days. I also did the LED dash mod with blue, of course! That is a really cheap easy and fun mod!
