1" doesn't look too bad, I would just prefer to stick with the stock spacers I don't like air between me and my frame. keep your eyes open for other rigs around you that are lifted, wether that be toyota, dodge, ford, chevy etc... you will notice that some just do body lifts and look like hell, you can see the engine sitting under the front fender wells, the bed/box has a ton of air between that and the frame. just doesn't look "clean" in my opnion. as others have said on this forum "do it once, do it right." my rig came with the 2" BB from the previous owner and I like it, it gives me a bit of a lift with enough clearance (for now at least) disconnect your front swaybar and you will be more than able to do what you need to do off road and still have your rig look good. I will be doing a real lift later 4"-6" when I have the money for SYE, lift, tires, gears etc...
