Ok I have been looking at suspension lifts and body lifts lately. I dont really have the money for the suspension lift I want, since I will need tires before winter also. So my question is does anyone have any sugestions on body lifts (manufacturers, sizes, etc...)???? Also is 3" too much. I do plan on getting a suspension lift but not until after the first of the year.....

2" is the max, 1.25" JKS is the best if its an 04 b/c you really shouldn't need to replace the whole mount, alos if its just for the winter and you promise to take it off afterwards, and you dont off road and you dont mind doing 3 hrs. of extra work and spending 100 more $$ just get the JKS, heck for the price of the 3" BL you could almost buy a BB

Yeah I was looking at the BB but I wasnt sure if I wanted to get that. I found a 3" BL for 89. Is there a reason on to go with 2" instead of the 3"?? I was gonna leave the BL on it when I got enough money around for the 3" BDS kit I want.. Sorry if these questions are retarded I'm just getting started with Jeep's, but if you have any questions about the new mustangs I'm good to go with that since I just sold mine. lol

So if I go with the 2 in Rubicon Express BB kit and the JKS 1.25 BL all that would work with no extra parts needed? Sorry guys lol

I'm telling you right now don't do a BL get a BB and longer shocks if you really want some more clearance. the BL is only goign to take the tub away from the frame, personally if you ask me I think it looks like $h!t. I like my BB the reason is because it works off the suspension not off the frame and body mounts. unless you like the look of having 2"-3" of clearance between your frame and body. BB is the most cost efficient way of doing things if your going to go with a real suspension lift later on (if you ask me that is). but just my .02

1" doesn't look too bad, I would just prefer to stick with the stock spacers I don't like air between me and my frame. keep your eyes open for other rigs around you that are lifted, wether that be toyota, dodge, ford, chevy etc... you will notice that some just do body lifts and look like hell, you can see the engine sitting under the front fender wells, the bed/box has a ton of air between that and the frame. just doesn't look "clean" in my opnion. as others have said on this forum "do it once, do it right." my rig came with the 2" BB from the previous owner and I like it, it gives me a bit of a lift with enough clearance (for now at least) disconnect your front swaybar and you will be more than able to do what you need to do off road and still have your rig look good. I will be doing a real lift later 4"-6" when I have the money for SYE, lift, tires, gears etc...

Yeah since I was gonna get the bl and the bb I was gonna fab up some rubber pieces that will cover the gap. I know what you mean with the gap there are some trucks and jeeps that do have the gap.I think that the 2" BB and a 1" BL will be my plan of attack. Hopefully I can get my tires ordered soon too

just remember with tires depending on what ones you get by next year they will be quite a bit skinner on the lugs due to driving. if it were me I'd get some cheap ones with decent lugs and save the cash for the tires you really want to run, but just my .02

Right now I have a 2"bb and a 1" BL and don't have any problems. I am running 33 12.50's and have plenty of clearance. If you want something cheap and easy to clear 33's that would be the way to go!!

The gap on a 1" body lift is not that bad at all and be covered up easily. All I did after doing the body lift (JKS 1.25") was to grab a can of under body coating spray from wal mart.

They body for me was not so much about lift height as it was plans for future upgrades. Some things go better with a BL like motor mount lifts and tummy tucks. My plan is to get the 33 eng. or N'th degree tummy tuck this year and I need to have a body lift for it to sit up tighter. I have already done the MML to decrease the drive line angles for the future upgrades.
