I have a bad brake booster in my 91 YJ and I'm looking to upgrade to the 95 YJ dual diaphragm brake booster. I have read that it's pretty much a bolt on fix, but most everyone seems to be changing the master cylinder as well in the upgrade. Can I keep my old cylinder and just add it to the new brake booster?

It seems like the modifications come when you are adding the new master cylinder to the old system and have to add the new brake lines.

Any help??

Yes and no. I tried that in my 89 and ran into a few issues.

Mounted the original spacer bracket that mounts the assembly to the firewall it can only go one way so you can close the hood. When installed that way the piston from the booster that hooks to the brake pedal was dragging at the bottom of the firewall access hole. A little grinding later no issues.

Finally got all installed and then had to make some custom lines to get the master lines to hook up to the proportioning valve.

Great mod just plan on a few delays it is not just a bolt on and go.
