I wasn't there but I hear the story again and again twice a year. A 4 to 6" sapling was harvested and ratchet strapped to the front and rear bumper and frame to hold the wheel/axle in the housing. Motor oil was liberally applied to sapling and tire to reduce friction, and Jeep limped back to camp.
