I'm replacing my oil pressure sensor and I cannot get my socket onto the sensor b/c the hose adjacent to the sensor is obstructing the socket. Whats in the hose? I'm afraid to pull it off.
Get oil cooler out put it on vice way easier to get it out with wrench [emoji373] if u lucky u don’t broke it and use some high temp tread to install it back
its part of the dreaded oil cooler assembly. Valley of death. hose is the coolant line. Most its the whole thing that goes out or the O rings under it.
Good idea on taking the oil cooler out. Before I went down that road I stopped by autozone and they had a thin profile oil pressure socket that fits both 1" and 1 1/16". I managed to wiggle it on and got the sensor out.
2 days late here...If you still have the intake manifold off, change the oil cooler/pre-heater housing. They are the most failure prone part on the engine and made of plastic. There's a fair possibility of cracking it when re-installing that sensor or they just crack on their own or warp, then leak.
If you've gone so far as to gain access to the sensor, do the sensible thing and replace the whole cooler itself, IMO.
