I'm replacing my oil pressure sensor and I cannot get my socket onto the sensor b/c the hose adjacent to the sensor is obstructing the socket. Whats in the hose? I'm afraid to pull it off.

How else can I get the old pressure sensor off?

Good idea on taking the oil cooler out. Before I went down that road I stopped by autozone and they had a thin profile oil pressure socket that fits both 1" and 1 1/16". I managed to wiggle it on and got the sensor out.

Thanks guys.

I ended up replacing just the oil pressure sensor and not the entire cooler. Now that I've been thru this process once, the next go at it will be a lot easier.

I do agree that replacing the entire cooler would be a wiser use of my time. I'll wait for warmer weather.
