I'm looking into a roof cargo rack that I will use for my move and also for a kayak after that (removable basket). I like the ones where I don't have to drill the tub and would prefer if it bolted to the bumper (or right behind it) as opposed to the tail light holes. Any thoughts on this one below or any others anyone is happy with?

I know it's not the kind you're interested in, but wanted to let you see this. Frank has the "bolt on" type. It attaches at the windshield hinges and bolted on to two areas on the tub. Good luck in your search.

Thank you. That is one awesome Jeep!
I'd like to stay away from drilling into the tub. I already made several holes when installing my tire carrier. What brand is Frank's rack, do you know?

You're right...
I was also looking at the back of my Jeep and I have the Bestop tire carrier so I don't know if I can make the ones that tie to the bumpers work. Both arms on the carrier may block that long tube arm in the back. So was the Gavin a relatively easy install?
Thanks!

"Relatively!" I had already installed the OR-Fab tire/can carrier on the back of my YJ prior to installing the Garvin Wilderness rack. The Garvin set up sandwiches the tub anywhere you penetrate it. So lots of pieces but well worth it.

I encountered two problems. 1. The G**^!da**& torx bolts on the windshield hinge. Had to drill one out (stripped torx). Broke the easy-out and had to now redrill through the easy-out. and 2. I am one attachment short on the right rear due to my tire carrier. Need to cut the bracket and grind some paint off the carrier attachement and weld the bracket on.
