Have 3 cats on my jeep talked to my exhaust man says if we remove them for muffler only and the o2sensors my check engine light will be on. Is he right i would love to dispose of my cats all of them mine is the 4.0
I have done that mod on a few Vehicles. What I did was take a trip to the Parts
house, and purchased two bungs, (the fitting the O2's screw into) drill a 1" hole
into the down pipe, weld 1 bung there, then the other one down line where the
other O2 sensor lead would reach, and weld it there. Screw the Sensors in, hook
um up, and was always good to go. No error codes, and would pass emissions
provided the inspector didn't perform a visual. There a LAZY bunch ya know.
Just throwing it out there, worked for me, and ECM was happy.
Thats what i wanted to know if the cats are clean it should free flow anyway i want mine off i hate that crap. I see on ebay i can get a no cat down pipe 169 or 2cat down pipe 869 hmmm well i think im pretty sure which.
Went to my muffler shop he has no issues to help me but says even with the 3 02sensors plugged in it will throw the cel on. I can remove light i guess but jeep should still run good correct. Wishing the cel would not com on though.
