Extra is never a bad thing, once you actually run the wire you'll see that 12' may not be enough.
I'm in a 2dr and used up most of the 18' pretty easily.
Have maybe 2-3' extra in the passenger floor board and that comes in handy when using a swr meter for testing.
When I do my wiring, I like it tight, and invisible. It would be hard to leave 3 feet of coaxial laying around. My plan is to go through the driver side tail light, and follow the wires all the way to the front, I think it will take about 12 to 13 feet of cable. I am just going to buy the firestick K48R18 Coax Cable w/Low-Profile Fire-Ring and Stud. I will leave about 2 feet extra and cut the rest.
