Hi all,
My check engine light just came on about an hour ago. I have a 2005, so I did the little trick where you hold the odometer button and turn the key and it would show you the code, only this time there was no code. Instead of flashing a code, all it said was "panel open". Does anyone know what this means? My CEL won't go off, and I don't have my code reader, so I couldn't tell you the actual code, sorry. Any help is appreciated.

Pushing the odometer reset button in while turning the ignition switch on only puts the instrument cluster into a self-check so all the gauge pointers sweep through their ranges. To generate the DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes), you only need to turn the ignition switch on-off-on three times within five seconds to start the DTC diagnostics.

Well don't I feel stupid...
Thanks Jerry. I guess I was used to my old ford. That's how I used to check the codes on it
